Olga Speaks

Olga Munari Assaly inspirationalist, contributionalist

Diagnosed with breast cancer five years ago, where some people’s
lives would have come to a halt, Olga kicked things into high gear,
embarking on a momentous journey of realizing her dreams and
inspiring others.

Less than a week after she was diagnosed she signed up for the
Weekend to End Breast Cancer, raising $114,000 in just four months
with the help of friends and family. Going on to become the
spokesperson for the ten thousand participants, she also joined them
in walking 60km just a few days following a chemotherapy treatment.
Now, her own foundation – Olga’s Butterfly Fund, amasses funds
towards finding a cure.

Building momentum through speaking engagements, media
interviews and individually mentoring breast cancer fighters, she
continues to share her story. Her book, The Joy of Cancer, plans to be
released in June 2012. The memoir aims to compel readers to find
opportunity in adversity. Having completed her nutrition and personal
trainer certification, she wants to use the next leg of her journey to
help women recover from treatment by helping them get their bodies
strong and healthy again.

Driven by a heartfelt desire to help others, she values community and
contribution and is compelled to use her experience as inspiration to
encourage people to support each other and to boldly pursue their
dreams.

“The best gift of all,” she says, “is making a difference in just one more
person’s life.”
